Fort Uke (Fort Collins Ukulele Group)

"Fu" is the Chinese word that represents "happiness." That sure goes well with ukuleles. FortUKE is a gathering of uke lovers who are in and around Fort Collins. We meet the 1st Saturday of each month from 9:30 till lunchtime at Everyday Joe's, 144 So. Mason St. They've got great coffee, teas and goodies. All are welcome. The espresso machine can sometimes be loud and there is an occasional train that goes by about 15 feet from the door, but those distractions are only encouragements for us to sing and strum with gusto. If the train does happen we are ready to start up Johnny Cash's famous line "I hear that train a comin'" from "Folson Prison Blues." We play just about anything that can be played on a uke: 60s, 70s, Roots, Folk, Hawaiian, Rock. Some work, some almost work, so we're developing a list of our favorites. Good times ahead!

The Rocky Mountain Ukulele Orchestra wants to thank Jim Olson and the City of Lakewood for providing us with rehearsal space at the Washington Heights Arts Center.
We meet Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. except on holidays or in blizzards or when the local sports teams are in important playoff games. Arrive 15 minutes early to help set up chairs, and plan to stay a few minutes afterward to clean up. The doors will be locked tight during rehearsals so don't be late!
